The Teacher As Actor Part 4: Confidence and Respect

I may do another post about these topics, but for this one, I am just going to share these two fascinating videos and leave it at that.

This video is chock full of tips for effortless confidence as consistently modeled by Matthew McConaughey. There are take and use suggestions throughout about storytelling, body language and more.

Below is another fantastic video that breaks down body language, vocal tone, word choice, pacing and more to command respect. Teachers want to be respected by our students and our colleagues alike. There are some very subtle ideas in this video that are really cool! Clearly, these scenes are intense and we wouldn’t want to be intimidating our students, but the tips still work in a subtle way in the classroom.
